The Features of Softshell Jacket Fabrics
The softshell fabric also called four-way stretch fabric.Four-way stretch usually uses the method of adding spandex stretch yarn to the fabric to make the fabric elastic.
The yarn and spandex covered yarn are twisted together to make elastic yarn. The feeding length of the two must be controlled separately to control the elasticity of the yarn. In the manufacturing and finishing process, the elongation of the yarn and fabric must be controlled to control the elasticity of the finished product.
The four-way stretch fabric is a warp and weft bidirectional stretch fabric. The general elastic elongation is 10%-15%, and the amount of spandex in the fabric is about 3%.
The advantages of four-way stretch fabric:
1. High strength. The strength of short fibers is 2.6~5.7cN/dtex, and that of high-strength fibers is 5.6~8.0cN/dtex. The strength in wet state is basically the same as that in dry state. The impact resistance is 4 times higher than that of nylon and 20 times higher than that of viscose fiber.
2. Good elasticity. The elasticity is similar to that of wool. When stretched by 5%~6%, it can be fully recovered. Wrinkle resistance is far superior to other types of fibers, that is, the fabric does not wrinkle and has good dimensional stability. Elastic modulus is 2 to 3 times higher than nylon. Good elasticity, very suitable for women's clothing. The popular elastic women's leggings in recent years can also be used for shoes, hats, home textiles, toys, crafts, etc.
3. Good heat resistance, will not deform even at high temperatures. Good light resistance. Light resistance is second only to acrylic. The surface is smooth, the internal molecules are tightly arranged, and there is a lack of hydrophilic structure between molecules, so the regain rate is very small and the moisture absorption function is poor.
4. Corrosion resistance. It can resist bleach, oxidants, hydrocarbons, ketones, petroleum products and inorganic acids. It is resistant to dilute alkali and not afraid of mildew, but hot alkali can decompose it.
5. Good wear resistance. The wear resistance is second only to nylon, which has the best wear resistance, and is better than other natural fibers and synthetic fibers
Disadvantages of four-way stretch fabric:
The color fastness of four-sided stretch fabrics is generally not high, especially black is easy to fade. The color of the fabric is easy to be inaccurate, and color difference problems often occur.
Secondly, the elasticity and weight of the four-sided stretch fabric are more difficult to control.
