The Basics of Dressing for Ladies Practicing Horseback Riding

Equestrian sports have long been an international favorite, and more and more ladies are learning and loving horseback riding. If a lady wants to go horseback riding, for reasons of comfort, safety and good image, clothing should be somewhat prepared, and today we will talk about some basics of dress code for ladies practicing horseback riding.

One. Pants

Ladies should preferably wear jodhpurs, breeches. pants should be thick, non-split and comfortable.

Jeggings are best avoided. The pants you wear when riding a horse should be both comfortable and flexible, allowing you to feel the horse's movements and actions. Wearing jeggings can be uncomfortable and restrict your freedom of movement.

Even in hot weather, super shorts, skirts, and stockings are a no-no, or your legs will be abraded, especially at the inside of your knees, and you can seriously hurt your skin.

For horse racing or formal equestrian practice, you should always wear formal breeches.

Two. Tops

When riding a horse, you will need to wear a t-shirt and, in cold weather, a long-sleeved shirt, which will cover as much of your arms as possible.

Some people will try to wear dull colors so that some horses are not affected by overly bright colors, which makes sense. Of course, the choice of clothing color is up to you, and the most important thing is to avoid clothing that might slap and disturb the horse while riding.

Don't wear low-cut or tank tops in the summer, even if it's best to add a jacket on the outside, it's easy to get naked and it doesn't look good when the sun is out and it's black and red under the neck.

It is best to wear a body protector (gaiter), which will protect your back and neck if you accidentally fall off the horse. Body protectors are especially important when jumping on a horse. Many tack stores sell them.

Three. Boots

Be sure to wear boots with a raised heel so that if your foot slips, you won't have too much difficulty while riding. It is not necessary to buy real riding boots for your first riding lesson, you can wear rain boots at first, but when you decide to stick with the lessons, you must wear riding boots. Don't wear rain boots or sneakers for formal riding lessons.

Leather shoes and high heels are definitely a no-no and can easily fall off.

Four. Headgear

If you are a novice rider, you must purchase a helmet if your riding school does not provide one. It is necessary.

If you accidentally fall off your horse, then a helmet is very important. Bicycle helmets are not good enough for horseback riding, they are too fragile.

Tie your hair back before riding a horse. Loose hair can cover your face when riding a horse, which detracts from your image if you're not in a movie or art photo shoot.

Choose a suitable hairstyle to avoid interfering with your ability to put on the helmet.

Five. Coat

In some areas of the country, the weather is very cold, horseback riding sports need to wear a thick coat, here you can choose to wear quilted cotton down jacket or rocker lining coat,

it should be noted that this equestrian coat needs a binding and open design, which can increase the horseback rider's experience.

Six. Accessories

Please wear gloves. While gloves are not required, they will protect your hands and provide a good grip. They can be leather, or other materials for riding gloves. Gloves not only help you improve the grip of your hands, but they also keep you warm when the weather is colder.

Remember to wear thick socks if it's cold.

If it's blowing wind and rain, you'll need thick jackets and knit pullovers, or you won't be able to ride in peace.
